To understand the full picture for the usage of WiFi in Hong Kong, starting from 2013, WTIA organized the WiFi Adoption and Security Survey. Through the survey, it measured the usage, accessibility and security standards of WiFi in Hong Kong, and also the public awareness and knowledge in WiFi security. Through gathering and analyzing the data from WiFi users, we hope to have a full understanding in the demographics of WiFi users, their user behaviors, attitudes toward WiFi and also their knowledge about WiFi. With such understanding we hope to help the government and commercial WiFi providers understand the current strength and weakness of the WiFi service providing in Hong Kong and find out ways and directions to improve the service. We hope to bring contribution for developing Hong Kong as a wireless city and raising public awareness in WiFi security.
